Membrane Switches appear in every corner of our daily lives: washing machines, microwaves and every instrument you use at work.About 80% of electrical equipment uses membrane switches.Once one of the switches fails, how do we troubleshoot and fix it?

KD will explain how to troubleshoot and repair Membrane Switch faults.

The first step is to find the damaged part.Press all the buttons to see if the various functions of the device are activated.

If only 1 or 2 buttons do not respond, the metal dome may be damaged or displaced. We can heat the product for five to ten minutes with the hot air from a hair dryer. The aim is to reduce the viscosity of the adhesive by heating it.

The third layer at the bottom of the membrane Switch is the metal dome, which we can remove to check or replace the dome.

If neither THR Button responds, then we need to check whether the terminal housing at the end of the circuit is loose or damaged. Also, don't forget to check the internal circuits.Once the circuit fails,we need to replace the entire membrane switch.

To replace the membrane switch panel of the same model and specification,we only need to remove the control panel. The operation is very simple.Read this article :5 large membrane switch installation errors will help you avoid installation errors.

If you don't have a membrane switch panel, microswitches are also an option. The circuit design should follow the old membrane switch. As for the installation of the microswitch,we can complete it by drilling, fixing and wiring with silica gel.
